Presley, 86, of Dallas, and formerly of Palestine, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Land of Memory Cemetery with the Rev. Scott Dornbush officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey and Foster Funeral Home, Palestine.Mrs. Presley died Tuesday at Richardson Regional Medical Center. She was born Nov. 26, 1920 in Palestine to Ragan L. and Tempe Perry Broyles. Mrs. Presley lived almost her entire life in Palestine; the last 10 years she has resided in Dallas. She graduated from Palestine High School and attended Nixon Business College. She worked in Houston for six years, returned to Palestine and married Bill Presley. She actively worked in the family grocery stores, Perry’s Food Stores and Minit Marts. Mrs. Presley was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she was in the Women’s Circle and taught children’s Sunday school class. She was also a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, served as treasurer for the Red Cross, and was a member of the PTA. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bill Presley, in 1986; a sister, Virginia Glenn; and a brother, Bob Broyles. Mrs. Presley is survived by her daughter, Karen Bailey and husband Al of Dallas; a son, Bill Presley Jr. of Las Colinas; a daughter-in-law, Betsy Shroyer Presley of Plano; two grandchildren Austin Presley and Megan Kostibas. Pallbearers will be Danny Dean, Bob Herrington, Frank Glenn, Ragan Broyles and Jesse George Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnnie Herrington, Frank George, Dr. Tom Hampton, Clifford Broyles, Susan Goodson, Joanie Konecny, Missy Broyles, Peggy Forster, Mack Presley, Doug Presley, Tim Presley and Phyllis McCulley. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the 25th Hr. Home Health Care team of Joyce, Libby, Shelia, Ella, and Patty for their care and support for Mrs. Presley. Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Bailey and Foster Funeral Home, Palestine.Donations may be made to the Anderson County Animal Shelter, First United Methodist Church or to the American Diabetes Association.
