- Mrs. Annie Lou Day, 64, of Tennessee Avenue, died Monday in a local hospital. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Hassell & Foster Chapel with E.A. Ritchie, Troup, and Holton George officiating. Burial will be in the Liberty Cemetery. The body will be at Hassell & Foster until after chapel rites.
Native and lifelong Palestine resident, Mrs. Day was born October 27, 1907 to the late W. Lawrence Pickle and Mrs. Lota Tucker Pickle. She was salutatorian of the Palestine High School class of 1926. She was a member of the Queen & Debard Church of Christ, and was formerly a schoolteacher and saleslady.
Survivors include a son, Billy Earl Day, Palestine; one great niece and one great nephew and several cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, W.L. Pickle, Jr. and Harry Pickle.
