Postings in this category will relate to my Pickel ancestors and relatives who have used the variant spellings of Pickel, Pickle, and Pickell. I believe that Pickel may have been the original spelling and that my Pickel ancestors came from Germany. Those who spelled the name Pickell seem to have been doing this to emphasis the pronunciation of the second syllable.
