4877 She married Benjamin Hawkins May 31, 1843 in Hall County, Georgia. This record has her maiden name spelled Lyle.

"Sarah was age 97 at time of her death according to letter from Otto Hudgin dated Feb. 28, 1969, he also stated that Benjamine Hawkins and Sarah Lyles were his grandparents. He also wrote that his great grandfather Lyles came with his father's family from Dublin, Ireland and one of his sisters was born on the ship intransit according to Sarah Lyles Hawkins, Otto's grandmother. Otto also wrote that he had a chest that was part of the furniture brought over on that trip that came into his family by his grandmother living with his mother, Cynthia Hawkins Hudgins, at the time of her death. Her father had given her the chest at the time of her marriage to Benjamine Hawkins. She was also 15 old when she got married. Otto also stated that Sarah Lyles Hawkins died while he was away in World War 1 in 1917 although her gravestone marker states her date of death as Jan. 10, 1918."
