| 4989 | Stanley Hill, 55, Hutchinson, chairman of the State Board of Social Welfare at Topeka, died after a heart attack in his office shortly before 3 p.m. Thursday. Mr. Hill had suffered heart attacks for about three years. He was born on a Clay township, Reno county, farm and lived there most of his life. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hill, were pioneers in the community. Mr. Hill served as a township trustee many years before being elected county commissioner. He was serving his second four year term when he was appointed to the state place June 2, 1947. Survivors are his widow, Lucy, Topeka; a son, Joe, of the home farm; a daughter, Mrs. William Gibson, Hawthorne, Calif.; two brothers, Clayton, Burrton, and Blaine, Hutchinson; four sisters, Mrs. Alice Pownell, Hutchinson, Mrs. Guy Sears, Garfield, Mrs. Dennis Alexander, Carthage, Mo., and Mrs. Glen Barnes, Pasadena; and two grandchildren.
