- David Allen Poppell of The Woodlands, Texas was born April 27, 1962 in Fort Bragg North, Carolina. He went to be with his Lord and savior on November 1, 2007 at the age of 45. David was a 1980 graduate of Poteet High School. He is preceded in death by his grandfather Bennett Whiddon Poppell, grandmother Lillian Pickle Poppell, grandfather Louis Anthony Hooge, and grandmother Gladys Balcar Hooge. David Allen is survived by his father Arnold Ray Poppell and mother Mary Ann Hooge Poppell of Conroe, Texas, brother Donald Ray Poppell and wife Sue of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, brother Dean Curtis Poppell and wife Lisa of The Woodlands, Texas, special uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces, and many dear friends. Our David was a wonderful son, brother, and a great friend to everyone who knew him. We all will miss his beautiful smile and his kind heart. The graveside funeral service was held at the Rutledge Cemetery in Poteet, Texas on November 9, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. Monsignor Carlos Davalos of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Helotes, Texas conducted the internment services.
