      Services for Lucille Dyer Pickle, 86, of Lufkin, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2006, in the Gipson-Metcalf Funeral Home Chapel, with Pat Jones and W. R. Jones officiating. Mrs. Pickle will be interred in the Oaklawn Cemetery in Mabank, Texas.

      Mrs. Pickle was born February 19, 1920, the daughter of the late Willie F. (Newell) and William Dyer. She passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2006, in a local hospital.

      Mrs. Pickle was a homemaker, and was dedicated to her husband, Earl, and her children. She devoted her entire life to her family and church. During World War II, she made garments for the military. Mrs. Pickle was a member of Union Road Church of Christ.
      Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Linda Pickle of Lufkin and Robert Pickle and Cathy Heaton of Little Rock, Arkansas; grandchildren and their spouses, James and Teisa Pickle and their children, Lisa, Dustin Earl and Kayla of Lufkin, Laurie and William Wooten and their children, Kelsi, Lauren and Garrett of Lufkin, John Alexander Pickle and Suzanne Woods of New York, and Matthew Pickle and his daughter, Alicia Raeanne Pickle of Lufkin; sister, Jean Nichols of Brownsboro; and numerous nieces and nephews..

      Mrs. Pickle was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Pickle; and great grandson, John Dalton Pickle.
      The men of the congregation of Union Road Church of Christ will serve as honorary pallbearers.
